[1]The 44th President of the United States was born in Honolulu, Hawaii on 4th August 1961 from A Kenyan born father and an American born mother. During most of Obama’s life he was raised in Hawaii.

[2]Barrack got married to a young American born Lawyer, Michelle Robinson Obama on 17th January 1964. Obama met his wife Michelle at Sydney Austin Law Firm in Chicago. Michelle was Obama’s advisor, and they got married in 1992. Obama and Michelle were blessed with 2 daughters namely Malia and Sasha. Michelle is an American lawyer and also was a major key player in campaigning for her husband in the 2008 general election that Obama won.

[3]Barrack was the 44th president and the first commander-in-chief to be an African American from 2009 to 2017 serving two terms in office under the Democratic Party. He was United States senator from Illinois from 2005 to 2008 before deciding to run for presidency. Obama was born in Honolulu, Hawaii which was not a very influential state in politics. He became a community organizer in Chicago after completing his political science degree at Columbia University.

Determined, he went on to enroll at Harvard Law School in 1988 where he became the head of Harvard Law School Review as the president. Barrack became a civil rights attorney, and also doubled it up by being a part-time lecturer at the University Of Chicago Law School, and even later as a professor.

His determination to enter politics, and his advocacy work led him to run for a seat in the Illinois state Senate under Democratic Party in 1996. Barrack then continued in politics until when he decided to run for elective positions in politics in 1997. He represented the 13th district until 2004 in the Illinois Senate. As a state senator wanting to make a difference in politics he saw the only way was through inclusive politics as he worked with both the Democrats and Republicans to draft laws to cushion the vulnerable Americans. Barrack was determined to expand healthcare services and early childhood education programs. He then came up with a state earned income tax credit to help the common American working people. Obama went worked with law enforcement to ensure justice to all by ensure that during interrogations, and confessions in investigations of capital offences there would be video-taping.

With his hard work and willpower, was nominated to run for president in 2008 under the Democratic Party after a year of campaigning. Obama emerged victorious against Republican John McCain in the 2008 American general election. Obama’s inauguration was held on 20th January 2009 as he was sworn in as the president with Joe Biden as his vice president. With an ambition of free world and world peace went ahead to win the Laureate Peace Prize in that same year of him becoming president.

[4]Obama has achieved many accolades including in his own written autobiography, ‘Dreams from My Father: A story of Race and Inheritance’ in 1995. This book received lots of praises from even some renowned authors across the world. To date the book has been translated to more than 25 different languages. The book was also awarded a Grammy Award for best spoken word album in 2006 when Obama narrated the book himself.

Obama set the bar high for everyone proving nothing is impossible. His story might only seem of triumph, he unsuccessfully ran for Democratic primary run for the United States House of Representatives in 2000. The seat was held by Bobby Rush a Republican. Barrack lost but had his mind made up on politics and created a campaign committee in 2002 which immediately started to raise finance to run for a seat in the senate house i the year 2004.

In 2004, Obama decided to run for a seat at the United States House of Representatives against Alan Keyes who once ran for presidency. After a few televised debates Obama’s ratings went up and, he won 70 percent of the votes against Alan Keyes’ 27 percent which was the largest electoral victory in Illinois history. This made Obama to be the third African American to have an elective position in the States Senate since Reconstruction

Obama got the whole world’s attention when he announced his candidacy in 2008 as he was nominated by his Democratic Party. Obama had tough battle with Hillary Clinton who was his closest competitor for the candidacy of their party as she was the senator from New York. Obama clinched most amounts of delegates to win his nomination against Clinton during the primaries. Hillary Clinton pledged her full support to Barrack Obama during his campaign for presidency.

On the 4th of November it was a celebration for the democrats after Obama won the election with 52.9 percent to John McCain’s 45.7 percent of the support. He became 44th President of the United States. Obama was inaugurated in on 20th January 2009 inheriting a lot from his predecessor like global recession, foreign wars unfavorable ratings of America from the International community.
